Bhai Tika invitations 2026
Bhai Tika, the fifth and final day of Tihar, is expected on Wednesday, 11 November 2026. The exact day follows the local calendar, so confirm it before you share.
Sisters place the seven-coloured saptarangi tika on their brothers' foreheads, offer a garland of makhamali flowers and pray for their long life; brothers bless their sisters and give gifts in return. With family spread across Nepal, the Gulf, Malaysia, Australia and beyond, one link tells everyone the time and the house.
The five days of Tihar
- Kag Tihar: offerings for the crows.
- Kukur Tihar: dogs are honoured with tika and garlands.
- Gai Tihar and Laxmi Puja: the cow is worshipped by day, homes are lit with diyo at night, and deusi-bhailo begins.
- Govardhan Puja and Mha Puja: Newar families also celebrate Nepal Sambat, their new year.
- Bhai Tika: brothers and sisters exchange tika, garlands, blessings and gifts.
The tika time
The auspicious time (saait) for Bhai Tika is set each year by Nepal's calendar committee. Put that time on your invitation once it is announced, and edit it any time: guests always see the latest version of the link.

- Food after the tika: sel roti, sweets and the family feast.
